Homeowners whose deck is soft, sagging or past saving, and those adding new outdoor living space. If the framing underneath is still sound, resurfacing can be the smarter spend.
If you think your deck may be unsafe, stay off it and mention it when you call.
Curious about cost?
Size, height, stairs, railings, materials and what's under the old deck all shape the number. Your in-home visit ends with a line-item quote for your deck.
In Surrey, most deck additions need a building permit. The rules differ between Surrey, White Rock and the Township of Langley, so we confirm what your municipality requires before we start and handle the application.
The BC Building Code requires guards (railings) where a deck is more than 600 mm above the ground. Decks also have to meet zoning rules such as setbacks from property lines.
In a strata, exterior changes usually need strata approval first.
Three steps from first call to finished project.
1
Tell us what you're planning. We ask a few questions about scope, timing and budget, and book your in-home visit if we're a good fit.
2
A Level Up senior estimator walks the space with you and takes measurements. You get a line-item quote, free.
3
We go through the quote with you line by line. Once you're ready, we schedule the trades and manage the work through to the final walkthrough.
Do I need a permit for a new deck?
Often, yes. In Surrey, most deck additions need a building permit, and the rules differ in White Rock and the Township of Langley. We check with your municipality before we start and handle the application if one is needed.
Can you just resurface my deck?
If the framing is sound, yes. We check the structure first, because new boards on rotten joists only hide the problem.
What affects the cost of a new deck?
The size and height of the deck, stairs and railings, the decking material, and the condition of what's underneath if we're replacing an old one. Your quote breaks the cost down line by line. For more on how renovation pricing works, read How Do Contractors Price a Renovation Project?
How long does a deck take to build?
A simple ground-level deck can be built in a few days. Raised decks with stairs and railings take longer, and if a permit is needed, the application and inspections come first.
What does your 10-year warranty cover?
Our workmanship is warrantied for 10 years from completion. If something we built fails because of how it was installed, we come back and make it right. Materials, fixtures and appliances are covered by their manufacturers' warranties, which we pass on to you. Normal wear, damage by others, and later changes by other contractors aren't covered. Your contract spells out the full terms.
